Description
For Jacques Schneider, the paving stone is a construction element of a road or a ground, fitting into other paving stones cemented by national unity, peace and love of the Fatherland. The bronze will guarantee the longevity of the work and witness the patina of time.
The artist chose the prints from among those that have been part of this history, the monograms of the last three Heads of State, the old symbols of the public forces, but also medals and old uniform buttons.
According to the artist, this paving stone digs into a concept of traces already present in previous works, the traces that we all leave after our actions and interactions. Here it is no longer a question of individual traces, but of traces left by the History of the last 100 years, inhabited by the presence of the Grand Duke Jean of Luxembourg (1921-2019), to whom he pays a vibrant tribute.
