Description

Bernard Deutsch was born in Vianden on February 21, 1837. In 1899, he worked on 2 statues of seated lions holding between their front paws, one the coat of arms of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, the other that of the city of Diekirch. It is for the passage of the progymnasium to the status of gymnasium that the lions in question were probably created and installed in the pediment overhanging the entrance of the Lycée Classique de Diekirch.
