Jean L’AVEUGLE (1296 – 1346), Count of Luxembourg and King of Bohemia, born at Altmunster Abbey, died while fighting at the Battle of Crécy. Yvette Gastauer depicts this colourful character in a fighting posture among his soldiers. The reverse side bears the inscription “John the Blind King of Bohemia Count of Luxembourg”.
