Description
Will Kreutz has successfully changed the Luxembourg landscape of design and communication over the past 30 years. Its creative excellence has been rewarded with more than 80 national and international awards. He surrounded himself with craftsmen to create two exceptional objects around the Gëlle Fra and the Luxembourg Pavilion.
The “Gëlle Fra” (golden woman) is one of the emblematic monuments of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg. Erected in the heart of Luxembourg, Place de la Constitution, in 1922, this female sculpture was called the “Queen of Peace” at the time. The monument consists of a raised square plinth supporting a 21 meter high obelisk, with at its top the gilded statue of a woman who, at arm’s length, holds out a laurel wreath.
